Cleofe's story

Cleofe E. is from the town of Banga. She is 39 years old. Cleofe is married and has two school-aged children. To make a living, Cleofe raises crops. The main source of income for her business comes from planting and harvesting rice for sale. Cleofe has been engaged in her business for over 12 years. Cleofe joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Cleofe has successfully repaid a previous loan from CEVI. Cleofe is requesting a new loan of 8,000 Philippine pesos, which will be used to purchase fertilizers such as manure. This will be the third loan taken out by Cleofe from CEVI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve her business. About CEVI Community Economic Ventures, Inc., (CEVI) has increased its portfolio significantly over recent years. Based in Bohol, they have numerous branches throughout the Philippines. In 2009, CEVI was awarded a CGAP silver award for transparency in social performance monitoring.
