A loan of $600 helped to buy small farm animals and nutritionally balanced feed for them.

Janet Del Pilar's story

Janet, 25, lives with her husband and son in the La Colorada settlement, a rural area of Mórrope district, a district that’s known for having most of its inhabitants in rural areas that are isolated from one another. It is part of Lambayeque province and is located an hour and fifteen minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

For the last three years she has been raising small farm animals and barnyard fowl in her back yard. When they reach a proper level of development she puts them up for sale to merchants that visit the area regularly. This business is an important source of income with which she helps her husband support the family.

Janet wants to expand her business buying more animals and nutritionally balanced feed for them. She hopes to increase her income this way and continue to help her family get ahead. To reach this goal, she has asked Edpyme Alternativa for her first, 1700 new sol, loan.

Janet is a young woman who is dedicated to her household chores. Her greatest wish is to continue growing as a businesswoman in order to make improvements to her home and provide her children with a good education. She is considered to be an active and quite responsible person by her neighbors.
