A loan of $900 helped a member to purchase underwear to sell.

La Buena Fe 5 Group's story

Marta is the coordinator of her group L. Buena Fe (The Good Faith). Her story is representative of her group and generally of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican clients, many of whom recently emigrated to the Dominican Republic from Haiti. Her group is located in the rural areas surrounding Hato Mayor, a sleepy agricultural town where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her long-term partner.

Marta is excited to be taking her third loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business selling jewelry. She intends to use the loan capital to purchase underwear in order to expand her offerings. She will use the profits to complete construction on her home and to invest in her children's education. She thanks you all for your support.
