A loan of $625 helps to buy rice seed and fertilizer to support his business.

Samaun's story

Samaun is 29 years old, married and the father of two children. He is a farmer and his wife is a factory worker. He has been running this business for five years. His main challenge is the rainy season.

Samaun has applied for a loan of 2,500,000 Cambodian riel (KHR) through Kiva's field partner Chamroeun to buy rice seed and fertilizer to support his business. Using the loan, he will be able to earn more income to continue his business as well as to support his family's living standards.

He hopes that he can grow his business and renovate his home.

This loan is special because:

It allows farmers to repay when they receive harvest income and gives them access to training.
