Virgen De Guadalupe - Cusco Group's story

Our members belong to the Cusco Virgen D. Guadalupe Community Bank. They live in the city of Cusco and meet the first week of the month in Huanchac district, in Cusco department.

One of our members is Sra. Mercedes. She is 45 years old, separated from her husband, and is now a single mother. She has two sons, one of whom is independent and the other is a student at a local college. Mercedes helps him financially and provides him with moral support. As well as her household duties, she runs a bookstore called Amauta which is located on Avenida D. la Cultura. Two young people help her in the store. Mercedes is asking for a loan to buy stock such as notebooks, pencils, and other school and office supplies.

Other members of the community bank have a variety of jobs: running a guesthouse, handicrafts, selling fodder, taxi service, photocopying service, printing business, electrician. They are grateful for the valuable help provided by the loan and promise to pay it back according to the repayment schedule.
