José Manuel's story

José Manuel, 41, is married and lives with his family in Insculas, Olmos district, an agricultural area noted for being composed of several small settlements scattered at great distances from each other. It is part of Lambayeque province and is over two hours away from the city of Chiclayo.

For the past 10 years he has been a cattleman. He owns a few head of cattle that the raises near his dwelling; they are his source of income, either by selling them to merchants that visit the area or selling the milk they produce to his neighbors. This is an important source of income for his family; he also works as a field hand for a large agribusiness in the area.

José Manuel would like to get some feed for his cows so that they will develop better and he might sell them at a better price. He will use the profits from the sale of his animals to buy more smaller ones to raise and sell. To reach this goal he has asked Edpyme Alternativa for a 2000 new sol loan; this is his 1st loan.

José Manuel is an honest, hard-working man who always gives the best of himself in his work in order to attain his family’s wellbeing. He is quite well known in the area where he lives and is held in high esteem by his neighbors.
