A loan helped a member to buy rams to resell in order to support her children.

Benkadi N°2 Group's story

Fatoumata is a Malian woman, aged 45 and mother of 5 children. She has been raising animals for 6 years to generate income. Her husband is a farmer and he helps her with the maintenance and well-being of the animals. She is borrowing from RMCR to be able to develop further her animal raising activity.

In the picture, she is the person with the sheep. The loan granted by RMCR will be used to buy more sheep and rams. She obtains them in the local villages and sells them in the local market later. The sale will generate a minimum of 40 000 CFA profit each cycle. With the profits made from selling these animals, she will be able to provide health, education, clothing and food for her children.

She has not had a problem with the loan from RMCR and she works in perfect collaboration with a veterinary service which gives her good advice. She also expressed her concerns with the pandemic Coronavirus, which is why only she is in the photo.

In the future, Fatoumata hopes to have more funds so as to be able to create employment for her children.
