08-Daan Sa Doole Group's story

This group of 20 women joined the banc villageois when it was created in June 2009. They live in the same district and get on well together. Their principal income generating activity is retail sale. This activity enables them to improve their living conditions through their solidarity. Mrs. Awa, who is 43, is the leader of the group and in the photo her hand is raised. She is married with three children and she supports three others. She has much experience in this field as she has been in it for several years. With her new loan, she plans to take up poultry farming and to sell bissap ice cream (made from dried hibiscus flowers) Once she has realized her profits, she will help her husband to take care of the children and reinforce her savings.
