A loan of $2,850 helps a member to purchase women's clothing and accessories to resell.

01_Diakhao Kanda Group's story

This group is composed of five very active women from the 'banc villageois' set up in the area in May 2009. These women share the values of solidarity and good neighbors. Their main work is in commerce. They have paid back over ten loans successfully.

Ms. Aïta, aged 42, is the group's representative standing at the left in the photo with a hand raised. She is the divorced mother of five children: four sons and a daughter, who are in school. She runs a business selling women’s clothing and various accessories. She gets supplies at the market from major suppliers and resells in her neighborhood. She has over eight years of experience.

With her loan, she is going to purchase 40 dresses, 50 bed sheets, and other goods. Her sales, cash or credit, provide her with a good profit, which lets her bolster her business, add to her savings, and help her children with their studies.
