A loan helped a member to purchase hypoallergenic wool.

Amazonas Group's story

Milenka Paola is a 33-year old woman. She is very enterprising. She is kneeling in the first row in the above photo.

For the last five years, Milenka has earned her living selling scarves, hats and gloves that she, herself, knits by hand. It's something she has enjoyed doing since with was a little girl.

It is the rainy season in Bolivia, which is a good time for her business because demand increases and she can earn a greater income. Milenka is requesting a loan from Sembrar Sartawi IFD so she can purchase hypoallergenic wool. It is a costly wool, but Milenka wants to diversify her products. She hopes this new product will make her more competitive.

Milenka's hope is to have a physical shop from which to sell her products. She currently sells as a street vendor in El Alto's markets and fairs.
