A loan of $3,450 helps a member to pay for millet and beans to resell.

04_Bambays Group's story

Since its creation in October 2007, this group has been composed of energetic women with solidarity living in the same town and in nearby villages. They are actively mainly in commerce and in raising livestock. They keep up good relationships.

MAREME, standing at the right in the photo with a hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 46, married, and the mother of five children, including four daughters. She is active in the commerce of grains and knows the sector well.

The loan she just received will enable her to purchase grains (millet, beans) in bulk to sell retail. With the profits, she envisions increasing her savings within the 'banc villageois' and also bolstering her business.

In this group: Tenning, Khady, Ndew, Aissatou , Ndeye, Adam, Sokhna, Diarra, Coumba, Maguette, Amy Faye, Dethie, Satou, Oumou, Mareme, Amy, Awa
