A loan of $1,675 helps a member to pay for foodstuff to sell.

04_Bambeys Group's story

Since its creation in October 2007, this group has been composed of energetic women with solidarity living in the same town and in nearby villages. They are actively mainly in commerce and in raising livestock. They keep up good relationships.

PENDA, standing at the right in the photo with a hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 48, married, and the mother of seven children, including three boys. She is active in commerce and has much experience in the sector.

The loan she just received will enable her to purchase grocery items (onions, chili peppers, black pepper) that she will sell retail in her village.

With the profits, she envisions helping her children with their education (by paying the school fees) and by buying food. Also, she is planning to help out her husband in covering day-to-day expenses.

In this group: Fatou Ndiolle, Penda, Amy Colle, Thioup, Ngone, Fatou Sarr, Diouma, Anta, Astou, Saye, Fatou , Amy, Woly
