A loan helped a member to buy pagnes and woven dresses.

04_Fcdl Group's story

Since its creation in December 2008, this group has been made up of supportive and dynamic women who maintain good relations. Their main business activities are trade and fattening. This group is on its 22nd loan cycle.

Therese, standing at the right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group representative. She is 57 years old, married, and mother of four children, including three boys. She sells pagnes [traditional cloth wraps] and woven dresses that she buys in a city and resells in her home village.

With her new loan, Therese plans to purchase pagnes and woven dresses that she will resell in her village at very competitive prices. With the profits, she plans to support her children in their studies, equip her house with materials, and also boost her savings in the banc villageois.

In this group: Germaine Awa, Therese, Tenning Cecile, Ceceile Ndew, Helene Fatou, Veronique, Melanie, Veronique
