A loan helped to purchase flour, cheese, and disposable items for packaging.

Marivel's story

Marivel is a young entrepreneur, 25 years old, and a resident of the city of Cartagena. She has a business making and selling frozen foods, which has been in operation for over 3 years. Her business idea was born from her enjoyment of preparing food. She began making some trays of deditos which she offered some relatives. Then, she continued offering them to neighbors and acquaintances. At this time, she sells in larger quantities and manages social media to increase her sales.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which came up on a global level, her work level dropped due to biosafety reasons, and her cash flow diminished drastically. For this reason, she joined the Programa Reactívate Cartagena Responde, led by the business council, to ask for her first Kiva loan, through Fundación Santo Domingo, with the objective of investing in the purchase of supplies and ingredients to prepare the frozen foods, such as flour, cheese, and disposable items for packaging. Support her in her business loan.
