A loan helped to purchase raw materials such as rice, beans, meat, oil, vegetables, and fruit.

Sandra Maria's story

An enterprising woman is how Sandra characterizes herself. She is a Nicaraguan, 46 years old, who emigrated to Costa Rica in search of better opportunities for herself and her family. At first, she worked with her spouse in different jobs, with which they managed to save up enough to rent a space in the capital and they began their business selling food with traditional Nicaraguan flavors. Her daughters and spouse support her by serving customers in the business.

Currently, she chose a Kiva loan with MiCrédito with which she plans to purchase raw materials such as rice, beans, meat, oil, vegetables, and fruit to expand the menu of her eatery and, so, to offer better customer service. In the future, she would like to be able to offer jobs to other Nicaraguans like her who have the desire to improve themselves.
