A loan of $1,000 helps to buy meat, vegetables and other groceries for making food to sell in her store.

Sovuthea's story

Sovuthea is 56 years old, married and is the mother of two children. She cooks and sells food as shown in the picture. Her husband is a tuk tuk driver. She has been running this business for 3 years.

Sovuthea has applied for a 1,000 USD loan through Kiva's field partner Chamroeun to buy meat, vegetables and other groceries for making food to sell in her store. Using the loan, she will be able to earn more income to continue her business as well as support her family's living standards. She hopes that she can grow her business, renovate her home and send her children to school.

Her main challenges are more competitors and insufficient capital.
