A loan helped to buy grains from local smallholder farmers to sell in the market in order to increase the income for his family.

Alexandre's story

Alexandre is a 32-year-old Mozambican man. He lives in Chimoio with his wife and their three children.

Alexandre has been a producer since he was young. He learned agriculture from his parents. After that, he had his own portion of land and started producing crops, first, to feed the family. Then, Alexandre found a business opportunity by helping other smallholder farmers to sell their products.

Nowadays, Alexandre is a trusted agent in his community since he offers a good price for the crops. Thanks to this activity, Alexandre was able to build a small store in his house where he keeps the crops, mainly grains such as maize.

He dreams to increase his store and business, and thus, to improve his family condition. This is the reason why he keeps working everyday to fulfill his dreams.

Alexandre is requesting a Kiva loan to buy grains from local smallholder farmers to sell in the market in order to increase the income for his family.
