This group is composed of 11 women who maintain good relations and live in the same neighborhood. They have taken advantage of the opportunity to join a women’s group since it was launched in early October 2020. The group members mainly work as vendors selling miscellaneous items.
Ms. Fatoumata, the one on the far right in the photo raising her hand, is the group representative. She is married, 48 years old and the mother of four children, all of whom are or have been in school. Fatoumata has been working as a vendor for a number of years.
With this loan, Fatoumata plans to increase her stock to sell at her local market. Her revenues will allow her to help her husband with everyday expenses as well as with the costs of their children’s education and healthcare.
In this group: Amy, Khady, Sonading, Ndiaba, Mariama, Mouminatou, Ernestine, Aissatou, Fabiena, Sire, Fatoumata
