Lucia's story

Lucia G. I. is 50 years old and lives in Jiquilisco in the department of Usulután with her two sons. Her older son works, and the younger one, who is 13 years old, goes to school. Lucia works caring for livestock, and in order to earn extra money, she makes corn tamales, cakes, atol (a hot corn drink), and fried corn. She makes these every afternoon and sells them outside of her house in order to have economic stability for her sons. Lucia is a person who has always fought a lot for her home and her sons, and this is why she wants to improve and prosper by improving the stability of her business. She is asking for a loan in order to have the necessary money to buy corn wholesale, so that she can make more dishes that are made of corn. Foods made from corn are in great demand in this country, so they sell very well. It is for this reason that she would like to increase her production and increase her earnings.
