Suwannee's story

Suwannee lives in the northeastern region of Thailand, the lowest income region. There are seven members in her family comprising of husband, sons, daughters and grandchild.

To earn income, Suwannee has cultivated a sugarcane farm, and she found that it was able to generate the income sufficiently for spending in her family.

Therefore, she sought more land plots to grow the sugarcane and then rent 10 rai (about 2 hectares). However, she needed the budget to pay for the land rent.

Consequently, she applied for the Kiva loan to pay for the land rent and buy more sugarcane for growing as well.

In the future, she desires to own a truck and sugarcane planter that would reduce the cost of production as well as increase profit.
