Petronila's story

Petronila is a resident of Baybay, Leyte. She is 53 years old, married, and has seven children. To earn an income her husband works as a farmer, while she raises hogs. Aside from this, she also buys and sells copra.

Now she asks for a loan of PHP 40,000 through Kiva’s field partner CEV (a microfinance NGO) in the Philippines. She will use this loan for additional capital to buy hogs and copra.

Petronila dreams to improve her business in the future for a better means of living.
