Maria Del Rosario's story

Maria is 60 years old, in a common-law relationship, and has five grown children. Her husband is a recycler. They live in Manta, a prosperous city that is frequented by many tourists who enjoy its marvelous beaches. However, tourism has diminished because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maria is a determined woman who does what she can to earn income to help with the household expenses. She and her husband have been managing a recycling business for 15 years. Thanks to the friendly relationships they have maintained with wholesale recyclers, they have been able to keep working with the intention of contributing to the environmental care of the city. Maria decided to start this business of buying all types of recyclable materials in her area. However, her business was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic because she was not able to continue her work. However, her business is gradually restarting now.

This loan will be used to buy iron, copper, aluminum, scrap metal, cardboard, paper, plastic, and other materials. Her dream is to continue growing her business.
