A loan of $1,300 helps to buy fabrics, threads, lace necessary for new products being asked for by customers.

Rosiris Del Carmen's story

Rosiris Del Carmen is a 55-year-old micro-entrepreneur living with her family in the city of Barranquilla. She has 10 years of experience in the garment manufacturing business. Her business started in a small workshop after taking tailoring classes near her home. Initially she was dedicated to repairing the garments of neighbors and relatives; later she took advantage of the opportunity for productive projects in her municipality and together with other entrepreneurs, she trained to expand her business. As a result she has made items for important warehouses in Barranquilla.

But due to the Covid -19 pandemic that occurred worldwide, her level of work deteriorated due to biosecurity issues, and her income drastically decreased. For this reason, she joined the Atlantic Responds program to request her first loan with the Fundación Santo Domingo in order to invest in the purchase of fabrics, threads, and lace necessary for new products being requested by customers.
