Katty H. P. is a 40-year-old mother of four who lives with her husband and sons in Batón, Limón, located near the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Katty owns a pizzeria where she prepares and sells pizza as well as other fast food items. Katty´s pizzeria is located in a busy location, in the same building where she lives. Her family helps her to carry out the daily responsibilities of running the pizzeria. The majority of her regular clients work in the surrounding area. These include banana field labourers and telecommunications sector employees. Katty plans to open a second pizzeria in Jimenez; for this reason she needs to buy another oven. This loan will be used to finance the purchase of equipment necessary for the production of pizza and for general investment in her food sales business.

Katty says she wakes up every day aspiring to provide better services to her clients. She strives to always be improving her business processes. She says her main obstacle is access to working capital. This loan will help to solve that problem. The loan consultant that has been working with Katty describes her as a hardworking woman with an entrepreneurial spirit. In the past, Katty has been a responsible client with a history of punctual repayments. This will be her seventh loan with Fundación Mujer. Katty says her business is going well and she is having success in finding new clients.
