A loan of $500 helps to buy rice seeds and fertilizer to support her farming business.

Sok's story

Sok is 60 years old, married, and the mother of three children. She is a farmer, and her husband is a construction worker. She has been running this business for 5 years.

Sok has applied for a 2,000,000 KHR loan through Kiva's field partner, Chamroeun, to buy rice seeds and fertilizer to support her farming business. Using the loan, she will be able to earn more income to continue her business as well as support her family's living standards. She hopes that she can expand her business and renovate her home.

Her main challenge is fluctuations in the price of rice.

This loan is special because:

It allows farmers to repay when they receive harvest income and gives them access to training.
