A loan of $350 helped to buy a bull for ploughing his land.

Guillermo's story

Guillermo, 44 years old, is a very hardworking and respected father. He lives in his own home with his wife Gregoria (50) and their 3 children, to whom he wants to offer a better future. When he was very young, Guillermo learned to farm with his parents, who taught him everything he needs to know to produce a good crop. He now owns his own land, which he cares for and farms with great patience. He sows peas and potatoes, which he later brings to his city's wholesale market to sell. What he loves most about his work is harvest time, which is when sees the fruit of his arduous labour. He has been farming for 25 years and his greatest challenge is protecting his crops from pests. His greatest wish is to buy a car, with which he would be able to transport his produce for sale in the market. This is Guillermo's third loan with MFP—he knows the necessity of paying installments on time, and is prepared to do so. He is a very cheery member of his communal bank. With the requested loan, he will buy a bull to help him with ploughing in order to better prepare his lands for cultivation.
