For 15 years, Maria Elena has operated a tailoring business (Alta Costura) that she started after studying dress-making and tailoring. Working hard every day, she has managed to set up a workshop with three sewing machines (chainstitch, lockstitch, coverstitch). She wants to expand the business and export her products. Maria will use her most recent loan to buy supplies (cloth, thread, buttons, etc.). The loan will add to her working capital so that she can continue operating the business.

La alcancía comunal “Micaela Bastidas II”, está conformada por 10 socias quienes se desempeñan en labores de comercio minorista e informal, trabajan con EDAPROSPO- Prosperidad desde hace 2 años.
María Elena, mujer emprendedora y entusiasta, actualmente asume el cargo de presidenta, desde hace 8 meses, tiene 39 años, es madre soltera, tiene un hijo de 17 años que actualmente se está preparando para postular a la Universidad.
Desde hace 15 años María Elena se dedica a la confección de prendas de vestir (Alta Costura), se inicio porque estudio alta costura y sastrería. Con el esfuerzo de su labor diaria ha logrado poner un taller con tres maquinas (recta, remalladora y recubridora), su gran sueño es implementar mas su negocio y exportar sus productos.
El reciente préstamo, María lo destinará en la compra de mercadería (tela, hilos, cierres, etc.). Agradecen el financiamiento para sus actividades comerciales y seguirán cumpliendo con sus pagos puntualmente.

EDAPROSPO seeks to use micro-credit to foster productive commercial activity for the sake of economic and social development within vulnerable urban and rural sectors traditionally neglected by commercial banks. By offering innovative products such as technical education loans and microfinance groups for young people, EDAPROSPO helps disadvantaged Peruvians lift themselves out of poverty.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
