A loan of $350 helped buying shoes to sell.

Salamatou's story

A. Salamatou was born in 1976 in  Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin.  Married to GOUNDJE Georges, she is the mother of two children, who are both in school.  The family lives in Yénawa, a district of Cotonou. Salamatou has been living in this district for about a dozen years.  She helps out her husband and, with him, ensures that the different household expenses are covered, thanks to the revenues her business brings in.

Salamatou never attended school.  For eight years, she has sold shoes at the Yénawa market in Cotonou.  Along with this work, she also sells undergarments.  She gets her supplies at Dantokpa, the international market of Benin, and also in Lomé, Togo.

She is a previous ALIDé client having already had four loans, which she has repaid.  She would like to raise her business level to cope with the demands of her customers and to make more income.  This is what brings her to request a fifth loan.
