A loan of $500 helps to buy more fish to sell at the market.

Sokunthy's story

Sokunthy has been in the fish selling business for four years. She is 48 years old and is the mother of two children. She and her husband process and sell dried fish. Sokunthy has applied for a loan of 2,000,000 KHR through Chamroeun, a field partner of Kiva, to buy more fish to sell at the market.

The loan will help her earn more income to continue her business as well as support her family's financial needs. She hopes to grow her business, renovate her home, and send her children to school. Greater competition and insufficient capital are the primary challenges she faces.
