A loan of $500 helps to buy crops and mineral fertilizers for taking a good harvest.

Gulbahor's story

Gulbahor is a strong, educated and purposeful woman from Tursunzade, Tajikistan. She is a woman with a higher education and she has been working as a teacher of secondary school for 15 years. She is a kind, but exacting teacher and has a good reputation among colleagues.

Beside her career at school, Gulbahor also has a business. She has an agriculture and farming activity for earning an additional income, as she provides for her family alone. Every morning she milks cows and sells natural products to local citizens. Also she sells vegetables and crops from her rental land.

Gulbahor wants to expand her business, and she is asking for a loan with Kiva’s partner IMON for buying crops and mineral fertilizers. She will use it to have a better harvest and to increase her capital. Also she needs to pay for the rental of land. Because of some unplanned family expenses she doesn’t have enough means for realizing her affairs, and that is why she deeply hopes for your help. This is her second loan, and she has a positive credit history.

This loan is special because:

It supports low-income female farmers while minimizing interest payments.
