A loan of $550 helped vehicle maintenance.

Flora Isabel's story

Señora Flora has been a member for 4 cycles of the communal bank Av. Del Ejército in the beautiful capital Manabita. Señora Flora is the founder of this communal bank, and she has been very satisfied with the loans she has obtained. She is a homemaker and the loan she is requesting is to help her husband in his work and in the maintenance of his dump truck. He works for hire hauling sand and rocks to different cities in the country. This costs him $20 per day and he works all week long, as well as paying the people who work with him and covering the food expenses. Our member tells us that recently her husband has not felt well in his health, and his sons are helping him with his work. The business is very profitable, they haul two or three loads in a day and each load is charged $40. The trucks belong to him, they are working alone in the city of Portoviejo hauling stones and sand. They only work when they have a contract, his expenses are $20 per day, apart from the maintenance of the truck. Each haul pays $40, or if it is sand, $20. Her dream is to be able to help her granddaughter to have her own clothing business.
