A loan helped purchase another van to increase my service capacity and hire another driver.

Anthony's story

I come from a challenging area in Milwaukee and I really didn't see being a business owner. My surroundings didn't offer the option of being a successful entrepreneur. Some poor decisions on my part forced me to start over once released from prison and the first decision I made was to be a better person. I wanted to give back to the collective community and help others make better choices. What motivates me is the ability to provide employment for others who otherwise might not be able to get sustainable employment due to their criminal background. I personally faced this obstacle and understand how it feels to be told no and feel like a failure. I am able to make a change in others’ lives and I want to continue to help others.

I was a taxi driver and when the market began to turn due to ride share, I decided to start my own transportation business. I learned, by paying attention to the rideshare expansion, that this would be a great business to start. I finally made that decision and launched PBT Transportation, LLC.

I have owned other businesses, but this is the first one I have pushed as hard to be successful. The taxi business opened my eyes to the vast world of business and consumer transportation. This business is about more than me. I want to leave my children a business they can continue, grow and be proud of. I want to give others with challenging backgrounds a family-sustaining job and offer a respectful transportation solution to the general consumer base.

This loan is special because:

It helps a small business owner grow his business.
