Estrella Margarita's story

Margarita is a member of the Alfa communal bank. She is going through a pretty devastating period due to the loss of two loved ones: she lost both her son and her mother a month ago. She is very sad but despite all she has to continue on for her other children.

Margarita sells intimate wear. She has been in this line of work for three years now and does very well. She’s married and her husband is a refrigeration technician. She goes out to sell door-to-door in her area and when her husband is free he goes with her.

She will use the funds she gets from the Fundación to buy stock items like: boxer shorts, hosiery, thongs and other items. She travels all the way to Guayaquil to buy from wholesalers so that she can get better profits. She tells us that business has fallen off a bit this last month because all the problems she’s had to face have caused her to neglect it a bit. However, she’s sure that she will retake it firmly and do well, she added with a smile.
