Shahnaz's Group's story

Shahnaz, a resident of Borewala (famous for its shrines) Pakistan, owns a small, two-roomed house and has been living in it with her family for over twenty years. She is a very talented and hardworking lady. She operates a clothes-sewing business. She does this work to share the financial burden with her husband. She sews clothes for her neighbors and charges them PKR100 for simple stitching and PKR150 for stitching designer suits. She sews two suits in every day and usually generates an income of almost PKR 300 daily. She uses half of her money to purchase kitchen items and she saves the other half for a rainy day. She has good managing skills. She not only works for the betterment of her family but also takes care of their health as well. She handles the domestic chores and cooks food for them.

Her husband is involved in an animal selling business. He purchases the animals from the animal market and sells them to his customers. He also loves to take care of the animals. When the animals are fully grown, he sells them to the animal market and generates income. He has been in this profession for the last ten years.

Shahnaz is applying for a loan from Asasah. She will invest the capital in her husband’s business so that he can purchase the animals (goats) and increase the profit of his business.
