A loan helped to purchase the ACE-1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safe, clean and saves money.

Mapulumo's story

Mapulumo is an 83-year-old-woman who lives in a multi-bedroom house with 10 children. She relies on a pension and struggles with buying fuel due to her insufficient income.

Wood and electricity account for most of Mapulumo's LSL240 monthly energy costs. She also spends as much as one hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Mapulumo bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help her and her family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices anytime for free. The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar-powered.
