A loan of $575 helps to buy supplies like fried meats, sauces and premises maintenance.

Maybelin's story

Maybelin is a young micro-entrepreneur aged 21, who is resident in the city of Barranquilla. As a business she has a stall for fast food, with more than 2 years of experience and practice in this job. There she offers hot dogs, hamburgers, roasts and other items.

Maybelin has customers from her neighbours, people from the area, recommended customers and family. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which occurred on a global scale, her level of work declined for biosafety reasons and her pay flow drastically decreased. For this reason, she connected with the Barranquilla Responds Program to ask for her first Kiva loan with the Fundacion Santo Domingo, with the goal of investing in the purchase of supplies, such as fried meats, sauces and premises maintenance. Support her in her loan for her business.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Donna Davison.

This loan is special because:

It gives youth without prior credit history the opportunity to start or expand a business.
