A loan of $550 helped to buy fish and vegetables to expand her sales in the market.

Luz Marleny's story

Luz is 31, and lives with her husband and their two children in the Esperanza neighborhood of Lagartera a village in the Mórrope District. The District is a rural area where people live far apart and work in agriculture. This is in Lambeque Province, about an hour and fifteen minutes from the city of Chiclaya.

For the last three years she has been selling fish and vegetables in the market in the city of Mórrope. She works there on weekends when many merchants come to the center. On these days the people from the villages and their outskirts go to the city to buy the items that they use during the week. She buys the fish in Mórrope and the vegetables from the farmers in the area where she lives.

The income that she gets from these sales help her husband with the household expenses. Her husband sells cattle. She also raises poultry and guinea pigs that she sells to the salespeople who come to the area.

Luz wants to expand her business by buying more items so that she can increase her sales and raise her earnings. That is why she is requesting a loan from Edpyme Alternativa of 1000 new sols.

Luz is a hardworking and homeloving woman. She is always looking out for the good of her family. Her biggest goal is to finally finish building her house and to live there. In the past she has worked with our institution and has shown punctuality and responsibility with her payments.
