A loan of $1,200 helped purchase of dairy cow.

Dionicia's story

Mrs. Magarita is 29 years old and lives with her partner. They have four children (10, 8, 6, and 1) and are a family living in poverty. They have been together for only five years and already have four children. They live in the city of Cochabamba in the Machacmarca locality. They do not have their own home; they live in their parents' house, which they will inherit in the future.

Magarita's main business is the production of milk. Currently she only has three dairy cows, whose output she delivers to a company that makes dairy products. Her husband works as a mechanic on-call, but because he doesn't work for an established business he does not work every day. This means they cannot afford their weekly expenses.

The loan will be used to purchase a dairy cow, which will increase milk production and thus raise her income.

Among her dreams and goals are having a small farm with 20 dairy cows and make improvements on the house that she will inherit from her parents so that each child can have their own room. Currently there are only two bedrooms one for all four children and the other for the parents.
