A loan helped to purchase more raw materials and produce the soap she sells in larger quantities to increase her profit margin.

Booyah's story

Booyah is a 28-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her family in the West Mamprusi Municipal in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loans, she was able to launch and sustain her business. She is now requesting another loan in order to purchase more raw materials and produce the soap she sells in larger quantities to increase her profit margin.

She plans to use the profits she earns to reinvest in her business to help it grow and also to take care of her younger siblings. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering two and half hours each week as a CAMFED Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in schools. She will cover topics such as rights and choices, choosing your career path, and active citizenship.

This loan is special because:

It helps borrowers withstand negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
