Katia Helena's story

Katia Helena is a 47-year-old micro-businesswoman. She is a resident of the city of Barranquilla. She has a business selling appliances and cleaning products. She has more than a year of experience working in this activity. She started this business after losing her job and she decided to go off on her own. She runs the business from her home and her customers are neighbors, friends, referrals and relatives. Katia Helena's goal is to expand her clientele and to take advantage of the increased demand for cleaning products. She wants to move the business to a locale that is separate from her house and sell wholesale. Due to the worldwide Covid -19, her level of work went down due to health safety reasons. Her cash flow was drastically diminished. That is why she is taking out her first Kiva loan with the Fundación Santo Domingo so that she can invest in buying a greater volume of cleaning products, like detergent and disinfectants, among others. Support her in her business loan.
