A loan helped to buy a solar light system which will improve his family's living conditions.

Erlin's story

In the community of Yoro, Honduras, where 26-year old Erlin lives, there is no access to electricity. However, that has not stopped him from carrying out his work as a farmer, a job he's been doing since he was very young. Although his work hasn't been affected, he and his family have suffered for many years for not being able to access the improved standard of living which electricity would bring. For a long time Erlin has had to buy kerosene lamp and batteries, and has walked long distances to charge his cell phone. Above all the family has been exposed to the health dangers caused by kerosene and candles.

For this reason Erlin is seeking a loan with Soluz Honduras as he needs to obtain a solar system. Then he will be able to carry on getting up very early to start work, and his wife won't have the difficulty of supporting him without light. He is certain that the solar system will make him a more productive worker and improve his own and his family's life since they will not be exposed to toxic gas and smoke.
