Ngek's story

Ngek is 54 years old, married, and is the mother of four chidren. She is buying and selling fish. Her husband is a farmer. She has been running this business for 4 years. Her main challenges are more competitors and fluctuations in the price of fish.

Ngek has applied for a loan of 3,000,000 Cambodian riels (KHR) through Kiva's field partner, Chamroeun, to buy more fish to sell at the market. Using the loan, she will be able to earn more income to continue her business as well as support her family's living standards. She hopes that she can grow her business, renovate her home, and send her children to get higher education.
