A loan helped to buy calves, salt, feed and vitamins.

Rosa Elvira's story

Rosa is a humble woman who is enthusiastic, hard working and a good mother. She lives in the Rinconadita section, a rural community in the city of Tulcan. This is where she is a farmer, primarily raising cattle.

She gets up very early every day so she can take care of her animals since this is how she supports her family. Rosa is grateful to Kiva for the help she has received as it has boosted her various farming endeavors.

Rosa is asking for a new loan to develop her cattle raising business by buying more calves, salt, feed and vitamins. This will allow her to maintain good milk production with her animals.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Marcia Margolis.

This loan is special because:

It aims to reach vulnerable refugee populations in an isolated region.
