Mrs. Srey Me Village Bank Group's story

Mrs. Srey M. is the village bank president of a group loan consisting of ten people who live in Peam Reang Leu village in Kandal province. She was selected by all the members who will use the loan for different purposes. She and her husband, Mr. Morn Bork, are farmers who own 3.5-hectares of land to grow crops to sell to support their family. Their problem is that their corn field is ready to be planted but they do not have enough money to get it done. So to improve production, Mrs. Srey M. is applying for a loan to hire farm laborers. Mrs. Srey M. is the mother of five children, three of whom are seamstresses in a garment factory, while the others attend the local public school.
