Ainura's Group's story

he Tup village is situated by the incredibly beautiful mountain lake Issyk Kul. The protagonists of this story are inhabitants of the village. Ainura B. needs loan which would allow her to purchase one ton [2200 lbs]of seed potatoes as well as fuel. Farming and livestock are the main occupations of the villagers. Ainura is 39 years old. She has five wonderful children: one son and four daughters. For many years Ainura and her husband have been able to support their large family thanks to farming work as well as to keeping livestock: cows and sheep. In addition, Ainura’s husbands repairs and paints cars. Milk sales bring Ainura about 2,000 soms. This is not a huge amount, yet it helps. The older children, as much as possible, help their parents with, weeding, watering and harvesting. Ainura has a number of goals to reach in the next few years. First of all, she would like her children to get an education. She will not to spare any money and effort to provide a future for her children. She believes that using one’s abilities wisely makes it possible to achieve anything. Also, she has been planning to renovate the sheds near the house for a long time. All this requires time and financial means, but Ainura will keep working at it little by little.

Nurgul S. is 40 years old. She is a recent widow, raising her twins, a son and a daughter. In order to support herself, she is forced to do both farming and livestock keeping. She is really hoping to obtain this credit in order to buy five smallstock animals. Her dream is to build a big house with all modern facilities.

Ermek I. is 37 years old. Ermek’s husband works at the poultry factory farm “Shumkar” in the town of Bishkek. Ermek is the mother of five children. At home, together with her children, she does farming as well as provides the services of a seamstress. She needs a loan to purchase 500 kg [1100 lbs] of seed potatoes.

Zamira I. is 37 years old. Her husband is a taxi driver. Zamira herself is very hard-working and helps her husband support the family. They have three children, the youngest daughter being only three years of age. Zamira grows various grains and vegetables on her own land plot. She is really hoping to obtain this credit which will allow her to complete the watering of her crops.
