A loan of $1,175 helped purchase a sewing machine and add a door to her store.

Claudia Milena's story

Claudia Milena O. P. is married and has a six year old son. She lives in the neighborhood of Palermo Norte in the city of Bogotá, the capital of Columbia. Claudia Milena designs and makes women's clothing of unebeatable quality. This is the reason she is asking for a loan of $2,300,000. She would like to buy a sewing machine and add a door to the premises of her boutique. Claudia Milena, in addition to having her own workshop, also has a store to sell the clothes she makes. The store also sells women's acessories. Her business has been operating since 2003 in a well located commercial site and through it, she generates direct employment.

This is her sixth loan with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, and with these loans she has gradually succeeded in strengthening her business. She is able to pay her suppliers in cash and therefore get important discounts, so her sale prices are very acceptable to her clients. Claudia Milena dreams of traveling and expanding her business. She would like the business to grow in order to help her family and achieve recognition on a local and national level. This is her big challenge.
