A loan helped a member to purchase ingredients in bulk for food preparation.

Primavera Group's story

The Primavera [Spring] group is made up of nineteen women. They are in their fourteenth cycle of the women's communal bank program. Among their activities, several of them sell food, some are seamstresses and some are teachers.

One of the members, Balbina, makes and sells meals to order (packed lunches) every day. In addition, on the weekends she works with her daughter as well, making cheese bread and corn bread. They also make salads and desserts.

In this time of Covid-19 pandemic throughout the country and the entire world, Balbina’s business activities have been affected much like others because many of her customers are employees who had to close the businesses where they were working during the entire quarantine. For this reason, these days Balbina has not had her usual volume of sales. However, she is seeking ways to build up her business again.

Balbina is asking for this loan to purchase ingredients in bulk in order to prepare food so she can obtain higher earnings, as this will enable her to continue to help her family.
