A loan of $1,075 helped buy medicine for his alpacas and pay farmhands.

Antonio's story

Antonio is 57 years old, and lives with his wife and three children in a house that he owns. Ever since he was very young, he has worked in the fields with his family. Nowadays he grows maca (a root with curative properties) and papa (a Peruvian tuber). He also raises various animals, above all alpacas which are the best suited to the climate where he lives. Every day he takes his alpacas to graze in the ample plains of his homeland, and he regularly shears and sells their wool for profit. Sometimes he also sells their meat. He also sells the harvests from his crop, from which the maca is the most profitable. His plans for the future include increasing both the number of animals he raises, and the number of plants that he sows. This is Antonio's fifth loan with MFP, and he promises to be very responsible with his payments. He also wishes to thank everyone who has made possible this loan, which will be very useful for the further progress of his business. Antonio will use the requested money to pay farmhands to help in his fields, and to buy medicines for his alpacas.
