A loan helped to purchase chemical fertilizers and phytosanitary products for her potato crop.

Herimalala's story

Herimalala is a mother of four. She lives in a rural village with her family and lives off of the land as a peasant, working in agriculture. Her husband works in a brickyard. Herimalala has been taking out loans with Vahatra to develop her potato crop. She was able to increase her planting area since starting this partnership. With rising income, her family was able to save money for projects they want to realize later on. Herimalala needs this loan to buy 200 kilograms of chemical fertilizer and phytosanitary products for her potato crop. She sells her produce at the local market. She envisions the purchase of a plot of land soon.
