A loan of $475 helped buying pigs.

Sylvain's story

Born on December 30, 1971 in Mandiakuy, San Prefecture (Ségou Region), Mr. Monsieur Sylvain D. is an orthopedic technician at the regional hospital of Sikasso.  Married and the father of three children, he resides with his wife and their children in Sanoubougou I, a working-class district of Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali).  Aside from his professional work, Mr. Dakou has a farm located about 7 km from Sikasso City, where he has been running a farm for raising pigs and poultry for over two years.

But with the goal of improving this business, which is very profitable for him, Mr. Dakou decided to join the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso about three years ago.  He has benefited from an initial loan, which he repaid properly.  He is requesting this second loan for buying five pairs of pigs, two pairs of geese, and three pairs of turkeys.

With this loan, he envision making a monthly profit of 120,000 francs CFA that will be used essentially for increasing his working capital, for helping to cover family expenses, and for paying the loan interest.
